Maintenance Mechanics do repairs and upkeep on various pieces of manufacturing and transportation equipment. They are responsible for general building repairs and ensuring that everything works. They report to a Maintenance Supervisor and file reports to keep track of which machines are safe and efficient.

What to expect

Can you fix just about anything if you have the right tools? Are you a whiz at home improvement? You’ll be working with machines that might be dangerous, so you’ll need to know safety procedures and keep those in mind at all times. Some of the repairs you make might require you to go into small spaces, climb ladders, work in high heat, lift heavy objects, and listen to loud noises. Being in good physical shape is crucial for this role.
