Registered Nurses (RNs) provide advice, emotional support, and medical care to patients and their families. When providing direct patient care, these nurses assess patient symptoms, reactions, and progress. Their observations provide the basis for care planning and physician intervention. What separates RNs from LPNs (described above) is two additional years of school and more independent responsibility. They manage nurse care plans and are qualified to educate and instruct patients regarding their health and medical care.
Can you handle pressure situations? As a Nurse, you will need to be organized, reliable and able to work well as a part of a team. You will need to be adaptive, a good communicator, and show compassion for people.
