Welders use specialized equipment to join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products. They may also be required to cut metal based on blueprints to construct new pipe or structural steel systems. Different types of welding require different levels of skill and experience.
Are you skilled with your hands and calm under pressure? Interested in making things for a living? As a welder you will be able to do all of this in an exciting environment. It will require a steady hand, lots of physical strength, and an eye for quality and detail. You might work with a partner or in a team, which will require excellent communication skills and a concern for others.
